Programări Rapide vs other booking apps - which one fits your business?

A commission on every booking, a subscription in euro, or free with no commission: three ways to pay (or not) for the same app. Over a month the difference looks small; over a year, at your real volume, it no longer does.

Programări Rapide

entirely free, no commission, support in Romanian

If you got here searching for “alternatives to the booking app I use” or “booking app with no commission”, you probably already know what you dislike about your current setup. What you do not know yet is whether ours is better for you, or just different.

This article answers exactly that, and tries to do it honestly. We compare Programări Rapide with the two kinds of app we most often end up next to in the same list: marketplace apps, which take a commission on every booking, and international platforms, on a subscription in euro.

There is no app that suits everyone, only one that suits the stage you are at. That is why, below, we lay out the advantages of each type of app, so you can decide which one fits you best.

The three types, in short

The marketplace app is a platform where the client searches for a service, not for a particular business: “haircut”, “scale and polish”, “oil change”. You appear in the list, next to others in the same trade. Most of the time you pay no subscription or a small amount, but the platform keeps a commission on every booking made through it.

Programări Rapide is an online booking app for any business that runs on appointments: salons, medical and dental practices, auto shops, fitness studios, veterinary practices and more. The app is entirely free, with no paid plan; we keep no commission on bookings. And when you have a question, the team that builds the app answers you in Romanian.

The international platform is a big product, designed for dozens of markets at once, not for Romania. The subscription is monthly, in euro or dollars, and in return you get a long list of features and integrations that you configure yourself, from scratch. The interface and the support are in English. The clients still come from you; what differs is how much you pay, how much you have to configure and who you talk to when something breaks.

Below we look at each type of app in turn, with the advantages of each, so you can make a suitable and informed decision.

What marketplaces and international platforms offer

The marketplace brings clients you do not have

This is the main advantage of marketplace apps. A salon that opened last month has nobody to send to an online booking page; it needs people to find it. On a marketplace, someone searching for “manicure” nearby lands on you without ever having heard of you, and the first bookings come from the platform’s traffic.

For a business that is just starting, a marketplace is often the fastest route to the first clients, and the commission is the price of that visibility. A new physiotherapy practice or a personal trainer in the first months on their own can reach people this way that they would not otherwise have found.

The marketplace has name recognition

Clients trust a name they know. Reviews sit in one place, next to everyone else’s, and a new business borrows some of the platform’s credibility.

International platforms have more features

They have many features and integrations, built up over years of development for clients in several countries. If you need something in particular, such as a link to a till system, an inventory module or invoicing in several currencies, there is a fair chance it already exists.

They are most useful to businesses that go beyond a single market: a chain of clinics with sites in two countries, or a studio that also sells products, with stock and prices in several currencies. For them, the fact that the platform is designed for several markets at once is exactly what they need.

What Programări Rapide offers

The cost over a year, not over a month

A dental practice with 200 bookings a month, on a marketplace that keeps 5 RON per booking, pays 1,000 RON a month, which is 12,000 RON a year. The same practice, on Programări Rapide, pays nothing: the app is free, with as many dentists, services and bookings as it needs.

A commission has a property you only notice afterwards: it grows exactly when things are going well. The month with the most clients is the month with the biggest bill.

Zero commission, whatever the volume

Programări Rapide is a booking app with no commission. We keep nothing from your bookings, neither a percentage nor a fixed amount, however many you take. And there is no invoice at all: the app is free.

So you no longer have a reason to keep loyal clients outside the app, booked by phone, just to avoid paying commission on them. All clients go into the same calendar, new and old alike.

The same core features as an international platform, without paying

What a business with appointments uses day to day is here just as it is on an international platform: an online booking page where the client picks their own time, with no account and nothing to install; a calendar per staff member and per resource; automatic email notifications, with confirmation, reminders, cancellation and rescheduling; client records with history; reviews, vouchers, service packages and reports; your own domain for the booking page.

The difference is the price. On an international platform you usually pay a few tens of euro a month and configure everything from scratch; with us, a salon with three stylists, a practice with two doctors or someone working alone pays nothing.

The clients stay yours

On a marketplace, the client has an account with the platform. Their history, their reviews, their preferences sit there, and the next time they need a service they search on the platform, where you appear alongside twenty other businesses. What you pay in commission is, in effect, rent on the relationship with your own client.

In Programări Rapide, the client list is yours. Each record is created on its own at the first booking, you can bring in the clients you already have from a list, and you can export everything whenever you want. A physiotherapy centre, for example, sees for each patient the history of their sessions, how many visits they have had and which tags they were given, in one place that nobody else has access to.

Support in Romanian, from the people who build the app

Support is in Romanian, from the team in Romania that builds the app. You ask and get an answer from someone who knows exactly how it works, with no automated chat and no time zone difference.

It works for any business with appointments, not just beauty

Most marketplace apps are built for beauty and wellness, and their vocabulary, services and clients come from there. For an auto shop or a veterinary practice, the categories, services and wording there simply do not fit.

Programări Rapide starts from the appointment, not from a particular trade, and adapts to the field you pick when you sign up, out of the 17 available. The services and usual durations are already there, and the app speaks the language of your business: a dental practice has “patients” and “consultations”, a physiotherapy centre has “sessions”, a fitness studio has “members” and “classes”. The same goes for booking resources separately from people: a shop with three mechanics and two lifts cannot take three cars at once, and the app knows it. What it looks like in each field is on the client booking page.

Choose a marketplace app if…

  • you have just opened and do not have a client list yet
  • you are in beauty or wellness, where the platforms have real traffic and your clients are used to searching there (for salons, we compared the five kinds of booking software separately)
  • volume is still small, so the commission is still small, and paid advertising on its own would cost more
  • you do not mind the client relationship running through the platform, at least for now

And one piece of advice we give sincerely: if that is your situation, use the marketplace. Just keep your own client list alongside it, so you have somewhere to move them when the situation changes.

Choose an international platform if…

  • you need a specific integration that nothing here offers: a till system, an inventory module, several currencies
  • you work across several countries or with clients who expect another language
  • you have a team that can configure a complex product and uses it to its full extent

If you run a small business, of up to ten people, a good part of the features you pay for will probably go unused. If you do need them, though, they are the right choice.

Choose Programări Rapide if…

  • you already have clients who come back and do not want to pay a commission every time they book
  • you want to pay nothing, in any month, however many bookings you take
  • you want the client list to stay yours, with its whole history, and to be able to take it with you at any time
  • you work in a field the marketplaces did not have in mind: medical practice, auto shop, physiotherapy, fitness, psychology, veterinary
  • when you have a question, you want to talk to someone in Romanian, not fill in a form

If at least two of the situations above sound like you, it is worth a try. The app is free for as long as you like and does not ask for your card details, so you have nothing to lose.

The combination that works in the first year

Many businesses do not have to choose from the start. A salon open for three months can stay on a marketplace for new clients and, at the same time, put its own booking link in its Instagram bio, on WhatsApp and on Google, for the clients who come back. The first arrive with a commission, the others without.

What matters is having a single calendar, so you never end up giving the same slot to two clients. Over time, more and more clients will reach you through your link and fewer and fewer through the platform, and at some point the commission will no longer make sense. That is when many drop the marketplace altogether, without ever having planned to.

How to decide, in an hour

Look at last month’s bookings and answer three questions:

  1. How many clients were new and how many had been to you before. On the ones who come back, you pay the commission for nothing.
  2. What you paid in commission per month, times 12. Put it next to zero, which is what Programări Rapide costs whatever the size of your team. What “free” means in booking apps, and why it is not a catch, is in free vs. paid booking app.
  3. How many of your clients would find you without the platform: from Instagram, from referrals, from the street.

If the answers point you towards an app with no commission, the guide to choosing a booking app has the seven criteria to check on any app, ours included, and the five steps to digitising your bookings show that the move fits in one afternoon. If they point you towards a marketplace, use it with confidence and come back when the situation changes. This article will still be here.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best booking app?

The one that fits the stage you are at. If you have just opened and have no clients, a marketplace app brings you your first people and earns its commission. If you already have a list of clients who come back, an app with no commission costs several times less a year and leaves your clients yours.

Are there alternatives to booking apps that charge a commission?

Yes, the apps on a fixed subscription and, simpler still, the free ones with no commission, such as Programări Rapide: you pay nothing, however many bookings you take and however many staff you have, and the account never expires. The difference against a commission shows over a year, not a month.

Can I use a marketplace and Programări Rapide at the same time?

Yes, and for many businesses that is the right combination in the first year. The marketplace brings the new clients, and your own booking page takes the clients who come back, with no commission. Keep the calendar in one place, so you never sell the same slot twice, and move loyal clients to your link over time.

What happens to my clients if I leave a marketplace?

It depends on the platform, and it is the question to ask before you sign. On a marketplace the client has an account with the platform, not with you, and their history usually stays there. In Programări Rapide the client records are yours: you import them from a list and export them at any time, including if you close the account.

Does Programări Rapide work for anything other than salons?

Yes. It is built around appointments, not around one trade: you pick your field when you sign up and get the services, durations and vocabulary of that field. Dental practices, auto shops, physiotherapy centres, fitness studios, psychologists and veterinary practices use it just as salons do.
